Thailand - Bangkok (Asiatique)

4/8/2015 - Thailand / Bangkok Day 1

This post is a continuation from my 'brief summary' blog post from Bangkok Hua Hin & Travel Guide.

I'll be blogging in a more detailed manner for all the upcoming Bangkok - Hua Hin posts. I hope you enjoy reading the post as much as how I enjoyed myself blogging it.

Bring along a notepad to record down your daily schedule and also to keep track of your spending expenditures.

OOTD!

I wanna be a billionaire so freakin' bad - Bruno Mars

Meet up with the rest in KLIA2.

Coconut Water - RM8
The taste was quite good wor.

Arrival at Don Mueang Airport.

Our driver's baby. Such a cutie pie.

We made our booking at bangkokbeyond.com
Airport transfer cost 1,400 baht for a van which fits 12 people. (From Don Mueang to LemonTea Hotel which is located around Pratunam Market).

Click on the picture above for further information about the hotel.

Personally I love the environment of the hotel.
It is clean, quite spacious and the location is exactly in the heart of Bangkok.
The price is also quite affordable too. The time I booked the room, it cost only RM165 per night (excluding breakfast). I booked the room via agoda.com website.

Upon arrival we were served with a cup of Iced Lemon Tea.

Such a cozy place.

Checking in.

At the lobby.

The room.

The bathroom.

After settling down, we started to hunt for FOOD!!!
What is Thailand without TOMYAM GOONG?

Had our dinner at one of the Seafood Restaurant along Pratunam Street which I can't recall the name.
They can converse very well in mandarin. This make me wonder whether are they locals or China people whom expand their business in Thailand? Hmmm....

The price was quite shocking because the total bill was up to about RM150 for 5 dishes and four glass of fruit juices. The size of the dish are very small only leh. Ngam-ngam for two people eat je. *gulps*

Sticky Mango Rice is also one of Thailand must try food.
Unfortunately I am not a big fan of it. Taste biasa je la...

Exploring Pratunam Market for an hour.

Next stop was Asiatique.

The cab cost from Pratunam Market to Asiatique was 400 baht each way.
The distance is about 14km from Pratunam, roughly about 25 - 30 mins drive depending on traffic.

The differences between Pratunam Market and Asiatique is that the former one is a place where you can find clothes and stuffs for a much cheaper price compared to Asiatique but obviously Asiatique is a place where you can take nice pictures and chill around with your friends. As for Mark, he prefers Asiatique over Pratunam Market. For me? I love everything about Thailand especially the clothes!

They have varieties of food/snack/dessert outlets as well.

Oh Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey! - Toni Basil

Vamp Up - selling leather key chains with free name carving.

Asiatique operating hour is from 5.00pm to 12.00am

Mark and I then stopped by at Brown Cafe which is located a row with our hotel.

The Thai Tea Fudge Cake is simply delicious. I even bought a packet of Thai Tea back home. Their tea is so fragrant and delicious. Nyummzz!

After having our late night dessert, we conclude our day with a thai foot massage.
What is Thailand trip without a thai foot massage right?

Foot Massage at only 250 baht for an hour. Murah gilerrrr.....

P/S : I feel so sorry for the victims who encountered with the act of bombing at Erawan Shrine. This happened just a week right after I came back from Bangkok.

Bukit Beruang area (especially the one nearby MMU) has developed like growing wild mushrooms.

I've visited the place lately, about a month ago and they have varieties of cafes. One of it is this Cafe & Restaurant Owl. (Unfortunately it is a non-halal restaurant).

The menu.

Pork Burgerrrrr!!!

Price was pretty reasonable and affordable for students.
Not bad not bad.....
