Malaysia - Kelantan - Kota Bahru (Kopitiam Kita / Kampung Kraftangan / War Museum / Pantai Cahaya Bulan / Four Seasons)

There's quite a number of places of interest in Kelantan. Unfortunately we only managed to visit several places only because we having a limited days to cover the entire peninsular except for Penang and Johor. That's because I've visited those states before. I'm proud to say that I've visited the entire Malaysia except for Sabah. How ironic.

Anyway, when you're in KB, make sure that you'll visit KOPITIAM KITA.
It is a very famous coffee shop that serves a very popular breakfast. It's a toast bread with 'kaya' and half boiled egg.

Quite a number of big shots people who came to this coffee shop such as Dato Siti Nurhaliza and Dato Paduka Nazri Aziz.

 Very delicious :)

Then we went for a second round - Sup Gearbox.
Honestly, that's the first time I heard of gear box. It's actually the same as soup tulang.

The bone is so big O___O
#boner lololololol

Istana Balai Besar

This place was the residence of the past Sultans and now serves as the venue for official functions and royal ceremonies. Entrance is restricted to royalty and officials only.

Handicraft Village/Kampung Kraftangan

This is a good place to get souvenirs. They have a number of stalls selling magnets, shirts, and keychains.
Make sure you visit every shop before purchasing because prices differs from one another. Do get the best deal and try to bargain.

Opening hours: 8.30am to 4.45pm (closed on Friday)

Besides having the gift shops, they have a number of restaurants as well.

When you're in Kelantan, there's a list of must-have-food.
1) Ayam percik
2) Nasi kerabu
3) Nasi dagang
4) Budu
5) Serunding

Muzium Diraja

Nothing much to describe on the museums...
Every museums are the same to me - boring!

Opening hours: 8.30am to 4.45pm (closed on Friday)
Admission fee: RM1 for Malaysian and RM2 for non-Malaysian

Muzium Islam

Another museum.

War Museum

And again.... another museum. Please! No more museum visits next time.
*stares at Mark*

Anyway, this place is an excellent place if you want to know or learn about world war 2 and it's impact on Kelantan.
The opening hours and entrance fee is the same as Muzium Diraja.

Lumrah hidup seorang penarik beca.

 Retardness :D

 With his coconut jelly.

Pantai Cahaya Bulan/Beach of Moonlight

This beach was once known as Pantai Cinta Berahi or Beach of Passionate Love in english.
hahaha. What a powerful name. I can see why they decided to change the name. lol.

Some cute and weird plant that I found. Any idea what's it called anybody?

hahaha what the hell lah? What kind of pose is this?
Typical example of cinta berahi couple :)

We went to KB Mall for some light shopping.
And guess what? This is a very small world indeed. I bumped into Chong Pei.

Four Seasons

This is a chinese restaurant that serves halal food. Most of the customers are malays.
I think that this is a good concept and you can attract more customers and earn even more lol.
It's located at Jalan Sri Cemerlang and do visit www.fourseasonrestaurant.com.my for further information.

Beef with Mongolian sauce

Claypot Tauhu

 Butter prawn

Deep-fried soft-shell crab cooked with salted egg.
This is a must eat! Freaking delicious but quite expensive.

Siakap fish cooked with lemon & sour style

Dinner was fantabulous. I am drooling while blogging right now.
Make sure you'll visit Four Seasons restaurant if you're in Kota Bahru, Kelantan.

We lived in Royal Guest Hotel which is quite nice and very comfortable.
It cost RM139 a night for two. We tried to enjoy our remaining days and indulged ourselves in a better hotel. That's because we had a very shitty hotel the night before. Oh God! It creeps me out whenever I think about it. #fml

By the way, breakfast is provided in this hotel. Weee~
I miss being pampered and lived in a 5 star hotel.

Bought a sunscreen lotion for our impromptu destination - Pulau perhentian.

Wait for my upcoming post - Pulau Perhentian.

Malaysia - Perlis (Snake and Reptile Farm / Padang Besar)

Perlis was originally part of Kedah, though it variously fell under Thai and Acehnese sovereignty. After the Siamese conquered Kedah in 1821, the Sultan of Kedah made unsuccessful attempts to regain his teritory until in 1842 where he agreed to the Siamese terms.

Like I've said in my previous post, Perlis is the smallest state in Malaysia and we managed to cover the entire city just within an hour.

 Hello Mahkamah Kangar :)

Can you spot the mini traffic lights? Kawaii desu-ne >.<

Snake & Reptile Farm

This farm was formerly a research facility which was set up by the Institute for Medical Research in 1981 to study snakes and to develop antivenom for snakebites. Besides that, the farm also consist of crocodiles, tortoises, iguanas, monitor lizards and macaques.

Opening hours: 9am - 5pm
Admission Fee: RM4 for adult and RM1 for child.

You would have to pay an additional of RM1 if you're carrying a camera for photo taking purposes.

One of my favorite translated names. Nama bahasa english so glamorous, but when it comes to bahasa malaysia - Ular Kapak Bodoh. hahahahahaha! Such a hideous name. Aiyoo..... why la translate it until like that? I feel so sad for this species.

 Freaking huge O___O

What are you doing inside of the cage Amirul?

Can you see a number of students in the picture above? Those primary school kids are having their school trip. Well my point is that, most of them are using a smart phones such as Samsung S2, S3, and even an iPad. My heart literally broke into pieces. Even onechan (big sister) which is me, myself and I are using some ciplak phone. EMOSADCANDIE! Kids nowadays are so lucky and spoiled.

Padang Besar

Our next destination was to drive straight to Thailand. Although that somebody did not bring his passport, we were trying our luck to talk to the relevant bodies whether we can make a temporary passport or a day pass to enter.

So here's some pictures while we were n our way there.

 Titanic wannabe #fail

 So near yet so far.

Unfortunately, the temporary one day pass is only applicable for those who were born in Perlis.
Bye bye Thailand :(
We were this close just to get to Thailand. Arghhh~

Ended up we shopped in Padang Besar.
Padang Besar is a popular shopping destination. This laidback and quaint border town draws bargain hunters with the two-storey Padang Besar Arcade and the duty-free Emas Kerajang Complex. The arcade is where you'll find reasonably priced clothing, handicrafts, household items and food products, while the complex is where you can stock up on duty-free items ranging from imported chocolates, perfumes, cigarettes, liquor to souvenir items.

However, in my personal opinion, the chocolates are still expensive despite the so called duty free -___-

Opening hours: 9am to 6pm

Padang Besar

All of us had Pulut Ayam. The chicken was tasty but the size of the chicken was such a disappointment. Can you see how tiny it was? Dafuqqqqq!!!!

That's all for Perlis. Instead of spending another night there, we decided to depart straight for Kelantan.
Oh boy! That was one hell of an experience. The journey was about 8 hours of driving. There's no highway at all! We left around 5pm and reached around 2am!

By far one of the most challenging drive for Firky.
The entire journey was dark, creepy and the 'highway' is so called dirty as well.
A number of people were said to be possessed while passing that area.
Two things that you should not do while driving around that area is:-
1) Feeling scared
2) Laugh a lot

I actually did the 2nd mistake. I laughed too much and when Mark told me to calm down by telling me the reason why I should stop laughing too much, my bulu roma dan bulu ketiak semua terdiri. hahahahaha! That's how scary it was :x

If your car breakdown in the middle of the night, then that's the end of your life la.
hahahahahahahahah! :P

Thank God we survived that brutal night.

Having a short break in between in some random R&R (first stop)

Our second stop in Jeli. Wow this place is freezing wei. Feels like Genting.

The moment we arrived in Kelantan, we crashed in E and E Hotel which cost only RM80 a night.
That is one of the worst room ever O___O

All of us were too tired to look for hotels, hence the lousy hotel.
It makes me wanna cry when I think about the hotel's condition T_______________T

I didn't even bother to take a picture of the room. OMG! Okay la I don't want to describe any further about it. Makes me wanna vomit blood.

Wait for my upcoming post regarding Kelantan :)
Till then. Toodles.
