Malaysia - Kedah - Alor Setar (Tun Dr. Mahathir's Birth Place / Menara Alor Setar)

There's nothing for us to visit in Sungai Petani except for the shopping malls.
We've decided to drive straight to Alor Setar right after our breakfast in Cendol Pulut Jo.

The only attraction place that you must visit when you're in Kedah is Pulau Langkawi.
I've been there for more than 10 times and I find it pretty boring. Nothing much to do except that you'll be able to buy cheap liquors and cigarettes and chocolates. These 3 main items are the reason why people tend to go Langkawi. It is all duty free.

Look at their buffet price. Damn bloody cheap right!

A compulsory thing to do in each state is - camwhore with the court.
hahahahaha! Damn no life to the max!

 Sungai Petani, Kedah's court.

Mission accomplished and off we went to Alor Setar.

Tun Dr. Mahathir's Birth Place
Malaysia's fourth and longest-serving Prime Minister, Tun Dr. M was born in this traditional, one-room wooden house in 1925. You can read all about his life and achievements here. They have a number of displays including furnitures, documents, school photographs and so much more.

The opening hour is as described in the picture below.
Entrance fee is free.

Too bad no photography was allowed. Here's the only picture that I could manage to get.

Then we stopped by Alor Setar's court. The guards were all female wei! They were smiling when they saw 4 weirdos camwhoring in front of the court as if it's like some sort of popular celebrity.
I have to say that this is by far one of the stupidest and crazy vacation ever! But I love every bit of it.

Muzium Negeri Kedah

The State Museum is located at lebuhraya Darul Aman. It operates from 10am to 5pm every Saturday to Thursday. No pictures are allowed. The place is quite boring for me. Every single effing museum looks the same to me. *yawns*
I've got no choice but to visit due to majority votes. Boooo!!!! I hate museums! Please visit the shopping malls instead can? T___T

Admission fee is free. Thank God it's free or I'll go berserk and kill Mark for his brilliant suggestion.

Menara Alor Setar

Alor Setar Tower soars above the city skyline at a height of 165.5m.
According from what I've read, apparently this tower is the 19th tallest in the world, and the second highest in Malaysia after the Kuala Lumpur Tower.

Opening hours: 9am to 10pm
Admission fee: RM6 for adult and RM3 for child
Telephone No.: 04-7202234

 Gigantic fatty :D

Kena photobombed

You can see the entire city just by using that blue-red thingy a.k.a the telescope.

That's the end of our Kedah post. After visiting the Menara Alor Setar, we went to our next destination - Perlis.

Pictures taken on our way to Perlis by the paddy field.

The moment we arrived in Perlis, it was already night. It's like a dead-zombie town. No night entertainment at all. Perlis is a very small state and in fact it's the smallest state in Malaysia. It doesn't attract many tourist except that it's a transit point to Thailand.

We settled down in Federal Hotel for the night. It's the biggest budget hotel so far which cost only RM140 a night.

Focus on the room instead of Amirul with his boxers please. Thank you :)
